Biography of Rick Springfield

Rick Springfield, whose real name is Richard Lewis Springthorpe, was born in 1949 in Sydney, Australia.

At the age of 13, he received his first guitar as a gift, and three years later, he formed his first band called 'The Jordy Boys'. He later played in the band 'Rock House' and in 1972, he released his debut album 'Beginnings'.

Although several of his subsequent works faced little success, Springfield's breakthrough came in 1981 with the release of his single 'Jessie's Girl', which quickly topped the charts in the United States and achieved platinum status.

Alongside his music career, Springfield ventured into acting and appeared in popular TV shows and movies such as 'The Six Million Dollar Man', 'The Rockford Files', 'Wonder Woman', 'The Incredible Hulk', 'Battlestar Galactica', and several others.
